URGENT
- Wolds Lane Rural Character under Threat
There is
currently a planning application for Wolvey House Farm, Wolds Lane to
convert the barns to 5 residential dwellings with a new build garage block
(this is the first farm on the left as you leave the village along Wolds
Lane)
The Parish
Council is sending a strong objection to Rugby about this application
because it believes that the proposed development will have a detrimental
effect on the rural character and identity of Wolvey as a rural village and
on the identity and use of Wolds Lane as an important village amenity. The
Parish Council knows that most Wolvey residents value the green belt and
open spaces around Wolvey and that Wolds Lane is particularly highly
regarded and used as a recreational amenity , for leisurely walks by a large
section of the community.
I know it is
a busy time of year for everyone, but unfortunately the time to respond to
the planning department is not increased because of the Christmas holidays.
It is likely that this is a deliberate ploy of the applicants’ agents to
submit such an application at a time when most people have other things on
their minds. Comments or objections
need to be sent to Rugby by 30th December.
The planning
application number is R10/0383 and is available to view on
the Rugby Borough Council Website:

Council’s response is available on the Wolvey website:
