Planning
An update on previous Planning Applications was received:

R09/1023/PLN            3 COVENTRY ROAD, WOLVEY – pending
Ref 923 FOX COVERT HOUSE- pending
R09/0704/PLN  LAND ADJACENT TO ROSEFIELDS, HINCKLEY ROAD– approved
R10/0602 LAND SOUTH EAST COPSTON LANE, COPSTON MAGNA - pending

The following NEW applications were considered:
R10/0828 KILMORE HOUSE, COVENTRY ROAD, LE10 3LD
Erection of replacement stables with tack room and haystore

RESOLVED:  Wolvey Parish Council has concerns about this application. It is situated within the greenbelt and the proposed replacement stable would be a substantially larger than the existing without an identifiable need being demonstrated.

R10/0902   1 CHURCH CLOSE,  WOLVEY, LE10 3LU
Extension of existing garage

RESOLVED:
Wolvey Parish Council has no objections

R10/1006 MILL VIEW COTTAGE, MILL ROW, WOLVEY, LE10 3HS
Erection of a two storey extension to front of dwelling

RESOLVED:
Wolvey Parish Council has no objections, but has concerns that the proposed extension will be in front of the existing building line.

R10/1020  GROVE FARM, WOLDS LANE, WOLVEY, LE10 3LL
Removal of hedgerow totaling 240 metres in length

RESOLVED:
Wolvey Parish Council is concerned about the number of hedgerows that are being removed at this farm and the resultant loss of habitat for wildlife and the impact on the environment.
The council requests that planning officers check the age and quality of the hedge.  If the removal of the hedge is likely to be approved, would it be possible for a condition that compensatory planting be provided to offset the environmental damage?

Report of meeting with Rugby youth officer
Councillor Buswell provided a report of a meeting with The Rugby Youth officer. It is hoped that an activity bus may be provided later in the year, once a week for 10 weeks, to provide activities for the young people in Wolvey and to  try to determine their needs. It is also hoped that activities can be arranged which can establish links with Gamecock Barracks, Bramcote.  Clerk to ask him to attend a parish council meeting to provide more information.

Councillor Surgeries
Wolvey Parish Council now holds a Councillor Surgery on the first Wednesday of every month to enable local residents to raise issues with councillors informally, outside of parish council meetings.
If you would like to speak to a parish councillor, please come along on Wednesday 4th August at 7.30pm in the back room of the Village Hall

Next meeting of the Parish Council to be held on Monday 16th August at 7.45pm in Wolvey Village Hall.

Members of the public are invited to attend all meetings of the parish council.  An agenda will be posted on the village notice board and on the parish council website three clear days prior to the meetings

Margaret Cartwright (Parish Clerk)
