Wolvey Neighbourhood Watch

Meetings are held in the Millennium Building at 7.30pm

Next Meeting:

The next Meeting is Thursday 20th October 2011 at 7.30pm in the Millennium Building.

We are fortunate to live in an area that typically has a very low crime rate. However, figures for the last three years reveal a small increase.
At the same time there has been a reduction in the detection rate of crimes.

When asked to comment on this trend, Warwickshire Police said, "The detection rate is indicative of rural locations. without positive leads and evidence, it is very hard to effectively investigate some crimes. We are trying hard to change this, particularly by thinking of new ways to gather evidence and capture those doing wrong in our communities." Since this statement we have learned that the Police Office in Wolvey Village hall hase closed in response to funding cuts.

This means that an active Neighbourhood Watch scheme is more important than ever before.

All that is needed is a willingness to keep an eye on your immediate surroundings, YOUR road, YOUR street, YOUR close for anything happening that is not usual. It doesn't mean you have to be a nosey parker! There are just four friendly get togethers a year, over a cup of tea and a biscuit. We discuss with our PCSO, Sharon Baillie what has been happening around the area or listen to a talk given by various interested visitors on a plethora of subjects. Messages are received by phone or email from the Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator in Rugby about crime in the area, which you can then pass on to people who may be affective by this crime. Not much to ask, is it?

Please join us. It could be very different without our Neighbourhood Watch Group.

Everyone is welcome to come along- the more people who get involved in this the more successful it will be. So please try your best to attend
 .
