Rugby Borough Council
So you fancy being a councillor?
Potential parish and borough councillors are being invited to discover
exactly what the roles entail at a specially organised event next month.
Held on Monday 7th
February from 7pm, the event at the Town Hall will lay bare all that
being a parish or borough councillor entails, from attending meetings,
working with the voting public and declaring interests to party
politics, timekeeping and organisation.
The new event, called 'So
you want to be a parish or borough councillor', is aimed at people
wanting to give something back to their community by representing their
wards at whatever level they want. It is the second event the
borough council has run, encouraging people to enter local politics with
a full understanding of the demands such a role places.
