At 5.30pm Villagers gathered in the Square
to celebrate the switching-on of Wolvey's Christmas tree lights,
they heard Carols played by Bulkington Silver Band and sung by the
Wolvey Church and WI Choirs.
At 6pm Alan and Marian Mitchell (who run the
Village Store) switched on the Christmas Tree lights.
Mulled wine, mince pies and plenty of mirth
were served in the Village Hall.
There were opportunities for revellers to scrutinize and comment on displays
depicting village activities, a stall to purchase hand crafted gifts for
Christmas, more carol singing, and to top it all a Jitterbug Demonstration,
which was great fun.
