Burbage
Surgery Patient
Participation Group Charity Golf Day
The Burbage Surgery Patient Participation
Group held a charity golf day on Thursday 5th May at Hinckley
Golf Club.
We were very well supported and managed to raise seven
teams of four.
The teams were made up of local business men, farmers
and a sprinkling of retired folk.
The Blue Pig and The Axe & Compass helped by supplying
teams. Bob Jones of The Axe and Compass Wolvey, and Watson Petroleum,
provided cash for hole sponsorship and prizes.
The first team teed off at 1.00pm led by our own doctor
Phil Thomason, the rest teed of in 10 minute intervals.
As well as team prizes there were individual prizes for
nearest the pin and longest drives, which were hotly contested.
First prize was won by a team of Hinckley Golf Club
members led by Phil Thomason with 95 points.
Second prize went to the” Etone Rifles” with 88 points.
Third prize went to a team of farmers with 81 points.
Longest drive was
won by Coventry businessman Chris Peake.
Nearest the pin was won by Kelvin Stead representing
The Blue Pig, Wolvey.
All of the teams sat down to a well earned meal laid on
by Hinckley Golf Club and one or two glasses of amber nectar!
The Burbage Surgery Participation Group would like to
thank everyone who helped make the day a success, both sponsors and
participants.
Mike Hudson.
